How Do I Know if a Locksmith is Legit?
Who would you trust with the most important and valuable assets in your life?
When searching for someone to work on your home, business, or car, this is a question you should carefully consider. The security of these aspects of your life - your work, your home, and your car - is perhaps more important than you know, and ensuring that the locksmith company who will be helping you secure them is a legit business is worth taking a few moments for learning.

Here are three ways you can tell that a locksmith is legit:
1.) An Informational Website - If the locksmith's website only has a phone number and the name of the business, that is a red flag to watch out for. A legitimate locksmith should have the services they offer, their service range, pictures of past jobs, and a clear and recognizable logo which you will also find on their service vehicles.
2.) A Clear and Honest Quote (Upfront!) - a legitimate locksmith will be able to give you a set price - or, in the case of a tougher job like an ignition rebuild or a rekey project with an unknown amount of doors and locks, a range, at the very least - that includes parts, cutting, programming, and any other associated fees, which should not change on scene (unless there was something left out of the scope of work, and the locksmith should inform you of this change before any work begins).
3.) A Listening Ear - A legitimate locksmith will ask you relevant questions and take the time to listen to your answers. If a locksmith is NOT taking the time to discuss the service being performed and they are quick and anxious to simply get on the job without getting the full scope of the work involved, that locksmith is most likely a scammer who wants to rush to the job and then charge an exorbitant fee for services you may not really need.
